Exhibitions Details

The impressive modern building of the MAC Museum Art & Cars is spectacularly situated against the backdrop of the Hohentwiel mountain directly on the German-Swiss border. The building, which the FAZ called "Germany's Guggenheim Museum", invites you to design every hall unique in the tradition of Gianni Versace and to create a new emotional space for the visitors behind every door. The exhibition in the entire building of the MAC 1 thus became a true work of art. The surrounding landscape in the extreme south of Germany, not far from Italy, the Alps, the delights of the south forms a contrast to the exhibitions in Berlin and Borås. The lovely Lake Constance shared by Germany, Switzerland and Austria is around the corner and Zurich is 45 minutes away. And behind the mountains that you can see on the horizon is Gianni's villa on Lake Como. All of this has inspired us to create the exhibition lavish, colourful, emotional and pleasurable.

"You have to know it, then ignore it. you have to love it, then abandon it and translating it, make it become tradition again, to then once again betray it." – Gianni Versace

Beauty became a perceived truth in the baroque. Besides to opulence, baroque symbolised power and became the favourite style of god-like rulers of the time. The baroque period tended towards a total work of art and the baroque patterns therefore became the preferred style for Gianni Versace to go beyond fashion.

The baroque platform shows his most famous design totally, the visitor is visually immersed in his legendary baroque world, which became his most important and famous graphic signature. Fashion for women and men and interior design on and against the background of his legendary wallpaper collection prove that Gianni Versace was basically a "baroque person".
